The MBTA’s income-eligible program offers reduced fares across all modes for riders between the ages of 26-64 with low income. Riders will have to renew their enrollment in the program each year.

Applications will launch in summer 2024. Check back later for updates.

What is the income-eligible reduced fare program?

The program provides riders with an income-eligible reduced fare CharlieCard that can be loaded with:

  • Cash value for roughly 50% reduced one-way fares
  • $10 7-Day LinkPasses
  • $30 monthly LinkPasses

Your card can also be used to purchase reduced one-way fares and monthly passes for Commuter Rail, ferry, and Express Bus.

Note: RIDE customers enrolled in the income-eligible or Senior reduced fare programs can receive discounts on ADA/standard and Premium trips.
